Setting Gratitude as Your Magnetic North

Sheila Walker posted a fascinating article on LinkedIn about the importance of gratitude. She states that gratitude catalyzes “upward spiral” biochemistry that boosts your mood and health.
Gratitude is defined as a thankful appreciation for what we receive, whether tangible or intangible. It reminds us that we are part of something larger than ourselves.
Feelings of gratitude activate the lambic system, which helps regulate our emotions, memory, and endocrine function.
When we wire our brains to focus on what we appreciate in others or think about what we have, we create the conditions for a constructive and expansive cycle of emotions and thoughts that shift our biochemistry for the better.
Gratitude can help us pause, breathe, and gain perspective, allowing us to see that there are more options than just one.
