Teach the Whole Child

I was inspired by Gavin McCormack’s post on teaching the whole child. He says it’s not what they can do, but who they can be that matters. Placed in the right environment, one where essential skills are included in the curriculum, one where independence, love, empathy and compassion are learning outcomes, where the teachers cater for her as an individual and treat her as such… She can become anyone she wants.
This is so very important! Each of our students can develop into successful individuals when we empower them and believe in them. We must teach each child with the belief that they are capable and we must teach them to learn in their individual learning styles.
And the social-emotional skills are paramount to each child.
