Strive to be Your Best

I am inspired by Jon Gordon who posted an article on the importance of striving to do the best we can do. Gordon states that, “One person in pursuit of excellence raises the standards of everyone around them. And they do this in their work and their life. … it’s the striving where you find greatness, not in the outcome.”

We often worry too much about the outcome and forget the importance of the effort and the process. Truly, it’s about the journey, not the destination. As I am learning about art, my goal is to enjoy the learning experience of how to represent a picture rather than the outcome of my journey. That’s difficult for me. However, I’m working on it.

I’m going to strive to learn to represent a scene and discover what works.
