Be Flexible

I believe that we must all be flexible in education. Each of us, adults and students comes to the workplace with our own state of mind. Some days we come with lots of energy and ideas but other days we are not as energetic.

According to John Maxwell, to be flexible means to be able to adjust. When we make a plan, we don’t have a perfect picture. Any teacher has to adjust to their students. If you aren’t willing to adjust you are going to lose a lot of battles with your students and possibly with your colleagues. Anyone who has a successful day, almost always has had to adjust plans.

By definition, the term ‘flexibility’ means the ability to bend or adapt to changing forces. In any educational environment, being able to adapt to change is paramount to success.
