4 Basic Human Needs for Engagement

Randy Conley created the following list of basic human needs for engagement:

1. The need for trust – tough to gain but well worth the time it takes to develop it.

2. The need to have hope – Leaders are dealers of hope.

3. The need to feel a sense of worth – Leaders have the opportunity to help their people feel worthy.

4. The need to feel competent – recognition is powerful.

We are all capable of this challenge of empowering people to meet these human needs. It’s our responsibility.
